What cookies are
Cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage and sessionStorage) are small pieces of data stored on your device. They help a website function, remember choices within a visit, and - where used - measure how a site is used.
Categories we use
In plain terms: we only use essential, first-party storage. We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this site today.
| Category | Purpose | Examples / providers | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Make the site work - e.g. remembering, within a single visit, that the intro animation has already played, and standard security/session handling. | First-party browser sessionStorage (e.g. "cipher-loaded"). No third-party providers. | Session (cleared when you close the tab) | First-party |
| Analytics | Measure aggregate site usage. Not currently used - we run no analytics cookies or scripts on this site. | None in use | N/A | N/A |
| Marketing | Advertising and cross-site tracking. Not currently used - we set no marketing or advertising cookies and run no pixels. | None in use | N/A | N/A |
| Functional | Remember optional preferences. Not currently used beyond the essential session storage described above. | None in use | N/A | N/A |
This table reflects what actually runs on the site. If we introduce analytics or marketing technologies in future, we will list them here with their purpose, provider, duration and party, and gate them behind consent.
Third-party cookies & sub-processors
In plain terms: we set no third-party cookies and embed no advertising or tracking pixels. None.
We currently set no third-party cookies on this website and embed no third-party trackers or advertising pixels. The vetted sub-processors we use to run the service (cloud hosting, transactional email and product analytics at the account level) are described on our Compliance page and in our Privacy Policy.
Your choices
In plain terms: nothing non-essential to opt out of today, and your browser can clear site storage any time. We honour Global Privacy Control.
Because we use only essential, first-party storage, there is nothing non-essential to opt out of today. You remain in control:
- Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies and site storage at any time. Note that disabling essential storage may affect how the site works.
- We honour browser-level privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).
- If we ever add analytics or marketing technologies, we will provide a preference centre where you can accept or reject each category, with "Reject All" as easy as "Accept All" and no pre-ticked boxes.
How consent is captured & enforced
In plain terms: nothing that needs consent runs today. If that ever changes, it stays blocked until you say yes, and rejecting is as easy as accepting.
Today, no non-essential cookies or scripts run, so nothing loads that would require consent - the safest possible position. Should we introduce non-essential technologies, we commit that they will be blocked at runtime until you opt in, that your choice will be recorded and honoured, and that you can change or withdraw it at any time. We will not use dark patterns.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if our use of cookies changes. The Effective and Last updated dates above show the current version. Questions? Email hello@ciphercrm.co.
