What is customer segmentation in a CRM?
Customer segmentation means sorting your customers into groups that share something, like the kind of buyer they are or the area they are in. A customer segmentation CRM lets you set up those groups and view or filter customers by them, so you can look at one kind of customer at a time instead of the whole list at once.
In CIPHER CRM you create customer groups in settings, using whatever split makes sense for your business, and then place each customer in one or more of them. The customer list has a grouped view that shows one collapsible section for each group. A customer who belongs to more than one group appears under each of them, so a buyer who is both a distributor and a key account shows up in both sections. Customers not yet in any group gather in an ungrouped section at the end of the list, which makes it easy to spot who still needs sorting. You can collapse the sections you are not working on and open the ones you are. Group is also a filter on the customer list, alongside assignee, tag and the rest, so you can pull up a single segment whenever you need it.
