What is a record ID in a CRM?
A CRM record ID is a short code that points to exactly one record, such as one lead or one task, even when two customers share a name. In CIPHER CRM these IDs are friendly rather than long strings of letters and numbers, and you choose the prefix for each module, so an ID tells you at once what kind of record it is.
CIPHER CRM gives every record a friendly, shareable ID. Leads, customers, tasks and projects can each have their own prefix, set in settings, so a code on a sticky note or in a chat message tells you both what kind of record it is and exactly which one. Full text search covers IDs, so typing a code takes you straight to the record. Staff members have member IDs as well, shown on their profile card with a copy button. When you open a record from a list, you can step to the next or previous record without closing the panel, which makes it quick to work through a filtered list one by one. Sales documents have their own custom numbering on top of this. The result is fewer mix-ups between similar names and less clicking through the day. Friendly IDs come with every plan of CIPHER CRM, which users rate 4.8 out of 5.
